Our method: Our courses strongly focus on communication. In every unit we practice the new knowledge (grammar, vocabulary...) right away in conversation exercises. Furthermore we have an OUTDOOR CLASS once a week. In these classes we leave the school and have a class in real environments in the city (the market, a museum...). In these classes you are encouraged to speak with Spaniards, your colleagues and the teachers, practicing what you have learned during the week. Our philosophy: We beleive in a 24/7 linguistic and cultural inmersion. We organize 1/2 times a week cultural activities like city tours, excursions to nature, sport, theatre and movies...just so that you enjoy Gran Canaria with new friends and you keep practicing Spanish. We also offer you a great range of discounts in other schools in the city (like Surf or Flamenco) to help you get in touch with locals and enjoy your stay to the maximum. Our teachers: All our teachers are native speakers and have a university degree in Spanish Philology and/or Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. We only hire teachers that enjoy our communicative teaching methods and understand that the goal is to not only to give you new knowledge but also to help you communicate in Spanish.

This course is for students who want to maximize their language learning practice during their stay. The courses focus heavily on speaking and communication skills. These lessons provide the opportunity to learn the local culture and customs. You will learn about grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and orthography and you will practice all the skills: listening, reading, writing and, above all, speaking, all in a communicative environment, what makes these courses the best ones for you to learn Spanish in an easy and effective way. Intermediate and advanced students also have the option of studying in the test-preparation and business classes. Our flexible choice of Spanish courses enables you to start at the level of your choice, choose the best timetable for you and finally you can join us any Monday all year round. We believe learning Spanish is an individual process, therefore we do our utmost to facilitate each of our students’ personal development and provide them with a comprehensive and unique learning experience! The methodology put into practice at Gran Canaria School of Languages gives special emphasis to the development of language skills, oral as well as written, while also teaching the grammar basics of the language. So it is a combination of direct and traditional methods. The final goal is for our students to be able to communicate fluently and correctly in Spanish. Use of the language being studied and learned is an essential classroom requirement. The classes are participative, including the use of CDs, videos, etc. to improve the comprehension of Spanish. In addition to learning the language, we try to bring the Spanish culture closer to the student by means of authentic material. The school owns 3 buildings near each other and all located only a few meters from the beach of Las Palmas (Canteras Beach), one of the most beautiful in Spain with 3 km. of fine golden sand and a lively promenade full of terrace-bars and restaurants. The school occupies one of the buildings; the other buildings are the residences. The school building has a maximum capacity of 80 students in 8 classrooms. It is a 2-storey construction with two Canarian patios used as a lounge connecting with offices, some classrooms and the computer room for internet access. On the second floor, there are more classrooms, the library and the terrace, which can be used by the students as a gathering and resting area. Each classroom is equipped with video and audio devices and a slide projector. All tuition hours pertaining to bank holidays are made up during the week with one extra hour on the other working days, despite what is said below, which is not correct. Tuition material is not included in the tuition price and is to be purchased on arrival at the school. The price may vary depending on the level/subject, ranging between 18 € and 25 €
